Oregon Targets Set to Announce

The Ducks are already off to a hot start in July. Oregon landed verbal commitments from Jac’Qawn McRoy and Da’Jaun Riggs the first week. Pushing the commit list up to 18. While Oregon’s class is getting fuller by the day, they might be ready for the hottest streak in the coming weeks.

Below are the known commitments for key Oregon targets.

July 6

4-Star EDGE Elijah Rushing

Current On3 RPM: Oregon 70.5%

Jhop’s Prediction: Oregon (March 8)

Commitment: 247Sports YouTube — 2 PM PST

There’s been some movement in the last 48 (ish) hours with Rushing. For more on those updates, click here.

July 6

3-Star CB Miles Lockhart

Current On3 RPM: Ohio State 97%

Jhop’s Prediction: Ohio State

Commitment: TBD

I don’t really have a lot to add here but figured it’s worth mentioning. Lockhart did unofficially visit Oregon this Spring, has a very tight relationship with Demetrice and Cole Martin. But he didn’t take an official visit to Eugene in June so I don’t see that working out well for the Ducks.

July 6

4-Star DL Joseph Jonah-Ajonye

Current On3 RPM: Georgia 96.4%

Jhop’s Prediction: Georgia

Commitment: Live Stream 7PM PST

This has become one of the worst kept secrets in recruiting. Jonah-Ajonye has been fairly open about where Georgia sits with him following his visits. It would be a shocker if he were to commit elsewhere. Oregon is one of his four finalists.

July 7

4-Star LB Dylan WIlliams

Current ON3 RPM: USC 62.6%

Jhop’s Prediction: Oregon (Nov. 29)

Commitment: TBD

Oregon might be looking at one of the best July’s in program history. Adding Dylan Williams the day after potentially landing Elijah Rushing would be a massive boost for the Ducks. As we know, the Ducks are in need of help at linebacker and Williams is one of the best in the country. His commitment would be considered a massive win for Oregon.

July 10

4-Star LB Kamar Mothudi

Current On3 RPM: Oregon 95.6%

Jhop’s Prediction: Oregon (March 8)

Commitment: TBD

Keeping with the theme so far. I’ve got Oregon pegged here from a very early prediction again in March. Like McRoy listed above, I think the Ducks have been the team to beat since a big unofficial visit. There are a pair of picks on 247Sports as well coming about a month ago.

The only thing I’d change if I were making a prediction today would be going from 70% to 90%.

July 16

4-Star OT Preston Taumua

Current On3 RPM: Oregon 89.3%

Jhop’s Prediction: Oregon (June 22)

Commitment: TBD

A new addition to the list. Oregon has seemingly had the attention of Taumua even before he visited. We know the Oregon brand is very strong in Hawaii and that seems to be the case with Taumua as well. Nebraska and others are certainly in the mix here but a couple weeks out I still like Oregon.

Sept. 4

4-Star LB Brayden Platt

Current On3 RPM: Oregon 83.7%

Jhop’s Prediction: Oregon (June 22)

Commitment: TBD

Here I am, alone again. The only pick for Platt is mine from last week to Oregon. And I won’t pretend I’m totally confident on that one especially given his commitment is more than a month out. Oklahoma is not out of this race by any means but I’ll stick with my pick because I trust in Dan Lanning’s ability to close on many of his top targets out West.
