Oregon women's basketball adds forward Filippa Tilliander to 2023-24 roster
Kelly Graves and the Oregon women’s basketball program have made another noteworthy addition.
On Thursday, Graves announced the addition of Filippa Tilliander. A 6-foot-1 forward who is a member of the Sweden junior national team, Tilliander will join the Ducks as a freshman for the 2023-24 season.
A Malmö, Sweden native, Tilliander joins UO after most recently playing for the club Norrköping Dolphins in the Sweden Damligan and European Girls Basketball League (EGBL). Last season, she led the EGBL U20 with 12.8 rebounds per game and 1.6 blocks per game while averaging 8.3 points per game on 47.8% shooting.
“Filippa has great length and can really run the floor well,” Graves said in a press release. “She can play the pick-and-roll and has a great ability to finish around the rim or knock down mid-range shots. She’s also a talented shot-blocker, a good distributor in the paint, and adds to our depth in the front court. She has a commanding presence and is just tapping into her potential.”
With the addition of Tilliander, the Ducks now have 12 scholarship players listed on their roster.
She becomes the fourth freshman in a ’23 class that has been tabbed by ESPN as the 18th-best in the nation. Oregon’s signing class features three players ranked in the ESPN top 100: forward Sofia Bell (No. 26), forward Sammie Wagner (No. 42), and forward Sarah Rambus (No. 66).
Bella Hamel, a junior guard who spent last season at Lane Community College, has also committed to transfer to Oregon next season.
Since the end of the 2022-23 season, Oregon has landed commitments from former Liberty guard Kennedi Williams, former Miami (Ohio) point guard Peyton Scott, former USF guard Priscilla Williams, and former Lane Community College guard Bella Hamel.
