Oregon women's basketball assistant coach Mike Moser accepts job with Boston Celtics
After one season working as an assistant with the Oregon women’s basketball program, Mike Moser has found his next career step.
Moser has accepted an assistant coaching position with the Boston Celtics, Oregon head coach Kelly Graves announced on Wednesday.
Later Wednesday afternoon, Moser acknowledged the Tweet and responded with a heartfelt message to Graves, the coaching staff, and Oregon’s fanbase.
During his lone season with the Oregon women’s basketball program, Moser helped guide the Ducks to its fifth straight NCAA tournament appearance. The Ducks finished tied for the second in the Pac-12 and saw Endyia Rogers, Te-Hina Paopao, and Nyara Sabally all earn all-conference honors.
Moser also helped the Ducks land the No. 2 recruiting class in the nation. That class includes 5-star signees Chance Gray and Grace VanSlooten, as well as 4-star signees Jennah Isai and Kennedy Basham.
Before his time as an assistant with the Ducks, he was a standout forward on the Oregon men’s basketball team. A Portland, Ore., native who starred at Grant High School, Moser established himself as a 4-star recruit who was also tabbed by 247Sports as the top player in Oregon for the class of 2009.

He committed to UCLA out of high school and spent one season with the Bruins before transferring to UNLV. With the Running Rebels, Moser was an All-Mountain Conference selection and an honorable mention All-American selection as a sophomore but was hindered by an elbow injury the next season.
He opted to transfer to Oregon for his senior year and was a key contributor for the Ducks. During the 2013-14 season, he averaged 13.2 points and seven rebounds per game for an Oregon team that reached the second round of the NCAA tournament.
Moser signed as an undrafted free agent with the Celtics in 2014. He performed well in the ensuing summer league, but opted to sign with Lietuvos rytas Vilnius of the Lithuanian Basketball League for the 2014-15 season.
He went on to play professionally in Israel, Kosovo, Qatar, Finland, and France before ending his playing career in 2019.
