Oregon's Alex Forsyth, Mase Funa out for Cal game
Oregon is as close to having a fully healthy roster as it has been since the season-opener. But that doesn’t mean the Ducks aren’t still dealing with some injury issues.
Alex Forsyth, the Ducks’ starting center, was in street clothes during warmups and will not play against Cal. Forsyth was a late scratch for Oregon’s Week 5 matchup with Stanford due to back spasms.
It appears he still isn’t healthy enough to go. Starting guard Ryan Walk was operating as the first-team center during pregame warmups.
The Ducks will be without a key player on the defensive side of things, too. Edge rusher Mase Funa was also in street clothes during warmups and will not play against the Golden Bears.

Funa has been battling nagging injuries for the past few weeks. The Ducks will also be without star edge Kayvon Thibodeuax for the first half because he was ejected for targeting during the Stanford game.
According to a report from 247Sports, Oregon offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead is coaching for the Ducks, but will not be on the sideline. Instead, he is working from Oregon’s booth. Moorhead missed the Stanford game due to a non-COVID-related illness and has been recovering in Eugene for the past few days.
Earlier this week, Oregon coach Mario Cristobal was asked about Moorhead’s status but did not give a definitive answer as to whether he would be on the Ducks’ sideline for the game.
