Oregon's Jackson Powers-Johnson becomes fifth unanimous All-American in program history
Oregon junior center Jackson Powers-Johnson is offically a unanimous All-American.
On Thursday, Powers-Johnson was named to the AFCA first-team, marking his fifth first-team All-American selection. He joins LaMichael James (2010), Marcus Mariota (2014), Penei Sewell (2019), and Kayvon Thibodeaux (2021) as the only Oregon players ever to earn the distinction.
Powers-Johnson was also named a first-team All-American by the Walter Camp Foundation, Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), Associated Press, and Sporting News.
Earlier this month, Powers-Johnson became the first player in program history to win the Rimington Trophy, which is awarded annually to the nation’s top center.
“There’s no one more deserving. I am proud of the work and leadership JPJ has shown since he stepped foot on campus,” Oregon offensive line coach A’Lique Terry said in a statement following the announcement. “I remember talking with his dad during his recruiting about this very moment and for him to be here a few years later as the Rimington Trophy winner is a testament to his consistent work ethic and mindset to be his best self daily. Thankful and proud of JPJ for helping lead our room all year and being consistent in his play of physicality and dominance no matter the circumstances, and it now leading to his recognition as the best center in the country. Forever grateful for JPJ.”
In his first season as a full-time starter for Oregon, Powers-Johnson leads all FBS centers in Pro Football Focus pass-blocking grade (91.3), run-blocking grade (84.2), and overall grade (83.9). He has not allowed a sack this season and has allowed just one pressure.

A former 4-star signee, Powers-Johnson was the No. 198 overall prospect in the 2021 class. Throughout his first two seasons in Eugene, he played at all three interior offensive line positions and was a key reserve for the Ducks.
This fall, he stepped into the starting lineup after last year’s starting center, Alex Forsyth, graduated.
Powers-Johnson was a two-time winner of the Pac-12 Offensive Lineman of the Week award this season and a three-time winner of the Joe Moore Award Pancake of the Week.
Oregon’s offensive line leads the nation with just five sacks allowed, and is one of four finalists for the Joe Moore Award, which is given annually to the top O-line unit in the country. UO owns the nation’s highest-graded pass-blocking team by PFF at 92.0. The Ducks rank fourth nationally with just 42 tackles for loss allowed.
