Oregon's Kel'el Ware selected to play for USA men's U18 national team

The honors keep rolling in for Oregon signee and 5-star recruit Kel’el Ware.
Ware, the gem of Dana Altman’s ’22 signing class, has been selected to the USA Basketball men’s U18 national team. Ware is one of 12 players selected, the organization announced in a press release on Friday.
A 7-foot, 223-pound center, Ware is the No. 6 overall prospect and the No. 2 center in the nation according to the On3 Consensus. According to 247Sports, Ware is the fourth-highest-rated recruit ever to sign with the Ducks.
He and 11 other prospects made the cut for the national team after the group was initially pared down to 17 finalists. The other 11 players are as follows:

Ware, Black, and Whitmore represented USA Basketball in a 102-80 win over the World Select Team at the 2022 Nike Hoop Summit in April.
The U18 men’s national team will compete at the 2022 FIBA U18 Americas Championship in Tijuana, Mexico, from June 6-12. The team is coached by Colorado head coach Tad Boyle, with Oklahoma State’s Mike Boynton Jr. and Boise State’s Leon Rice serving as assistants.
