According to a report, yet another key Oregon women’s basketball player is headed for the transfer portal.

James Crepea of the Oregonian/OregonLive reported Monday evening that sophomore guard Maddie Scherr has opted to enter the transfer portal.

Scherr, a former 5-star signee, started 28 games for the Ducks in 2021-22 and was one of the top on-ball defenders in the Pac-12. She averaged 4.7 points and 3.7 rebounds per game and shot 34 percent from three. Scherr also was tabbed as an honorable mention all-conference defensive selection.

With the departure of Scherr, the Ducks have now seen three starters and one key rotation player leave the program in the span of three hours.

Earlier Monday, star forward Nyara Sabally announced that she has entered the NBA Draft. Sophomore guard Sydney Parrish and sophomore forward Kylee Watson both announced that they have entered the transfer portal.

Parrish, Scherr, and Watson were all 5-star signees in the class of 2020.
