Oregon's Sabin Ceballos selected in third round of 2023 MLB Draft
After emerging as one of the top power bats in the Pac-12 this spring, Oregon slugger Sabin Ceballos is the first Duck off the board in the 2023 MLB Draft.
The Atlanta Braves selected Ceballos in the third round, with the 94th overall pick on Monday.
The slot value for the pick is $714,100.
In 59 games this season, including 58 starts, Ceballos slashed .333/.426/.643 while hitting out of the cleanup spot for the Ducks. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound junior smashed 18 homers, 10 doubles, and drove in 70 runs.

A Rio Grande, Puerto Rico native who began his career at San Jacinto Community College, Ceballos was selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the 14th round with the 418th pick overall pick in 2022. He opted to continue his college career, though, and significantly boosted his draft stock.
Earlier in the draft, several of Oregon’s top ’23 signees heard their names called.
Right-handed pitcher Noble Meyer (Jesuit HS, Ore.), was selected 10th overall by the Miami Marlins and was the first prep pitcher taken.
The Milwaukee Brewers selected 3B/SS Eric Bitonti in the third round with the 87th overall pick.
