Oregon's Verone McKinley III becomes 10th consensus All-American in school history
Oregon safety Verone McKinley III has become the 10th consensus All-American in school history.
On Tuesday, McKinley III and Oregon edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux were each selected as first-team All-Americans by Sporting News, marking the third time a publication has selected McKinley III for the honor.
He was also a Walter Camp and AP All-American.
A player is recognized as a consensus all-American after being named to the first team by at least half of the five official selectors – the Walter Camp Football Foundation (WCFF), Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), Associated Press (AP), Sporting News, and American Football Coaches Association (AFCA).
