Overrated/Underrated: ACC Edition
Well as I continue along with this series it’s now into the Southeast portion of the country. Taking a closer look at the ACC, I examine who I think is overrated and underrated from the conference.
The ACC has leaned heavily on Clemson for recent college football success. However the conference might be counting on another program to return to some of the old glory days this season.
Here is a look at the ACC in the AP and coaches polls.
Florida State: Underrated

We will know all about Florida State right off the bat this season. The Noles will host LSU to start their season on Sunday, Sept. 3. Mark me down as someone who is excited to see this matchup. I like FSU this year and pollsters do too. They have an explosive offense and a lot of great athletes on defense. Mike Norvell has them humming on the recruiting trail too. If, IF, FSU can beat LSU and get past Clemson to finish September, they can roll all the way until the final week with a heated showdown with Florida to finish. I think this is a playoff team.

Clemson: Overrated

Clemson should roll to 3-0 before the showdown with FSU on Sept. 23. They should coast again until Nov. 4 when they play Notre Dame. Then it’s Georgia Tech, North Carolina and South Carolina to end the regular season. Dabo will been to beat one of FSU or ND and hope he can beat the Carolinas to remain in the top ten. I don’t think they will pull it off this season.
North Carolina: Underrated
AP: 21
Coaches: 20
The Heels are in a weird spot this season. Just inside the top 25, which is probably just about right. If they can manage to beat South Carolina in the season opener, you could be an undefeated team until Nov. 18 when you play Clemson. The Heels have a very favorable schedule and one of the best QB’s in the country in Drake Maye.
