Pac-12 Review: Week Twelve Winners and Losers
Well folks here it is. The final week of the Pac-12 conference with some drama at the finish line.
It’s been a good season for the conference. By no means is it the level of the SEC, but I’d argue the Pac-12 has easily been the second best conference in the country. There are at least 4 or 5 teams that look like they could compete with nearly every team in the country, maybe save Georgia.
That’s been the fun part of this season. There really hasn’t been a dominant team out there other than the Dawgs. Despite being undefeated, TCU, Ohio State and Michigan have had some really close calls this season.
Let’s take a closer look at this past weekend and which teams won and lost in the conference.
Wazzu Fends Off Arizona
Jhop’s Pick: Wazzu
I figured this one would be close as I pegged a three-point win for Wazzu last week. They won 31-20 so they did a little better than expected. But that said they didn’t blow out Zona and now gets ready for what should be an electric Apple Cup.
Beavs Handle Devils
Jhop’s Pick: OSU
Oregon State got rolling and never looked back against ASU. The offensive output will give them some confidence this week headed into the Civil War game. Oregon will have its hands full on Saturday.
Cal Got a Win
Jhop’s Pick: Stanford
The Bay area teams should be better than this. There is enough talent there and enough leftovers in So Cal to make them competitive. It looks like Justin Wilcox won’t be fired this week and as such, gets to take on Chip Kelly and UCLA looking for a rebound game.

Riley Nets First Quality Win
Jhop’s Pick: UCLA
I told y’all I had stopped picking against USC. And then I went back on it and it cost me. It ended up being a good game with obviously a ton of offense. It was nice to see this rivalry renewed a bit after being down the last few years. Credit USC for gritting out a tough win and moving to the front of the Pac. Meanwhile UCLA started out 6-0 and has gone 2-3 since.
Huskies Blast Colorado
Jhop’s Pick: UW
Easy Dub for the Huskies. Colorado really should try and make its coaching hire so they can get started on the ‘rebuild in Boulder.’
Ducks Over Utes
Jhop’s Pick: Ducks
Tough win here for Oregon. One of the grittiest I can recall in a long time. Next up is the big season-ender with OSU with a chance to play USC in the Pac-12 championship game.
Current Season Record: 51-16
