The Oregon men’s basketball program notched a pivotal 68-56 win over Utah at Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene on Saturday to 13-9 on the season and 7-4 in Pac-12 play.
With the victory, the Ducks moved up to fifth place in the conference. They sit just two games behind first-place UCLA (8-2) and will have an opportunity to close the gap when they face the Bruins next week.
Jermaine Couisnard led the way for the Ducks with 18 points, and Will Richardson added 12 points and seven assists.
“I thought we played really hard,” Oregon coach Dan Altman said. “I thought we got really good minutes from Lök Wur off the bench. (Nate Bittle) played really hard. (N’Faly Dante), offensively that first half was really good. … Guys did a good job. We used our bench. I thought everybody made a contribution.”
ScoopDuck photographer Darby Winter was on-hand to capture the action at MKA on Saturday. Here’s a gallery of his best photos from the Ducks’ marquee win.

**Three takeaways from Oregon’s dominant win over Utah**
The Oregon men’s basketball team notched its fourth win in its last five games Saturday with a 68-56 drubbing of the Utah Utes at Matthew Knight Arena.
Jermaine Couisnard led the way for the Ducks with 18 points, and Will Richardson added 12 points and seven assists.
The Utes have consistently been one of the best teams in the Pac-12 when it comes to rebounding and entered the weekend averaging 40.0 boards per game. But the Ducks gave them all they could handle on the glass and out-rebounded them 41-32.
Here are three takeaways from the Ducks’ gritty showing at Matthew Knight Arena.
Oregon’s resilience
At this time a week ago, Oregon looked dead in the water.
The Ducks’ ugly loss at Stanford last Saturday seemingly put the nail in their NCAA tournament hopes. They were 5-4 in a mediocre conference and had just been trounced by a Cardinal team that sat in last place in the Pac-12 standings before tip-off.
