On the latest episode of the Ducks Dish Podcast, ScoopDuck’s Max Torres and Justin Hopkins are back with an Oregon Football and Recruiting mailbag! They answer questions from ScoopDuck subscribers as well as live viewers that tuned into the show on either the ScoopDuck Youtube channel or X.

Oregon has now held six spring practices and on Tuesday we got to hear from head coach Dan Lanning, wide receivers coach Ross Douglas, wide receiver Gary Bryant Jr. and quarterback Austin Novosad.

5-star quarterback Jared Curtis continues to be a recruit that we’re discussing heavily ahead of his May 5 decision between Oregon and Georgia. Will he take any more visits? Only time will tell. The only other quarterback Oregon appears to be actively recruiting in the 2026 class is Folsom’s Ryder Lyons. Do we see that change between now and when Curtis comes off the board? It’s been rumored that Lyons is working on setting another visit to Oregon this spring.

Max and Justin also discuss how NIL factors into Oregon’s recruiting efforts, specifically in the areas of player retention, high school recruits and transfer portal recruiting. Oregon has taken fewer transfers in each offseason since Lanning was named head coach. Finding a balance between leveraging the transfer portal and giving “home grown” talent is an ongoing priority for any coaching staff.

Another topic Max and Justin hit on is which position group is the biggest priority for Oregon in the 2026 class. The Ducks boast the No. 4 recruiting class for 2026 according to On3 and they continue to generate positive momentum during the month of April ahead of the spring game.
