PODCAST: Two Oregon Players Selected in First Round, Spring Game Preview

On the latest episode of the Ducks Dish Podcast, ScoopDuck’s Max Torres and Justin Hopkins react to the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Former Oregon defensive lineman Derrick Harmon was the first Oregon player selected in this year’s draft, coming off the board at pick No. 21 to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He joins a defensive front that also features TJ Watt and Cameron Heyward.
Offensive tackle Josh Conerly Jr. was the second Duck selected on Thursday, as the Washington Commanders drafted him with the 29th overall pick. He’ll help protect Washington’s young franchise quarterback Jayden Daniels.
With Harmon and Conerly being taken on Thursday, this is the first draft since 2015 that saw Oregon with two first-round selections. That hadn’t happened since 2015 when former Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota was selected by the Titans with the second overall pick, and former Oregon defensive lineman Arik Armstead was selected by the 49ers with the 17th overall pick.
Max and Justin also make sure to hit on the top recruiting stories. 5-star Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei offensive tackle Kodi Greene slipped his commitment from Oregon to Washington on Thursday. The Ducks are also recruited some other high-end offensive tackles in Jackson Cantwell, Immanuel Iheanacho and Kelvin Obot. A’lique Terry has Oregon positioned to be top contenders for each here in the 2026 class.
