Projecting Oregon's depth chart for the Holiday Bowl
The Oregon Ducks have officially touched down in San Diego and are just four days out from the Dec. 28 Holiday Bowl against North Carolina.
Oregon will have a chance to notch its 13th 10-win season in program history.
In order to do so, the Ducks will have to find a way past a talented North Carolina squad that features Drake Maye, one of the top quarterbacks in the country.
“They’re a good team,” Oregon coach Dan Lanning said of the Tar Heels earlier this month. “I’ve got a lot of respect for (head coach Mack Brown) and the job that he’s done there. Obviously, they’re playing a championship in their conference; they’re really explosive on offense and have a great quarterback that did a lot of things.
“I’ve worked with some of the guys that they have on their defensive staff. I think they do a really good job. So it’s a great opponent, you want to play a good team. We got fortunate to play a good team in the bowl game.”
Like so many other teams during the postseason, though, the Tar Hells have been depleted by opt-outs. Star receiver Josh Downs, among others, has opted out in order to prepare for the NFL Draft.

The Ducks have also seen plenty of key players depart the program.
Defensive starters Christian Gonzalez, Noah Sewell, and DJ Johnson have all decided to forgo the bowl game in order to focus on draft preparation.
Additionally, 16 Oregon players have entered the transfer portal since the end of the regular season.
That includes Dont’e Thornton, Justin Flowe, and Moliki Matavao.
The Ducks’ roster looks vastly different at this point than it did during the regular season finale at Oregon State.
Here’s a breakdown of what Oregon’s depth chart could look like when it takes the field against the Tar Heels on Wednesday.
