QUAAACK: 5-Star Immanuel Iheanacho Commits to Oregon, Nation's No. 2 OT Heading to Eugene

2026 5-star+ plus Baltimore (MD) Georgetown Preparatory School offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho has committed to Oregon. He announced his pledge to the Ducks on the Pat McAfee show Thursday morning, choosing Oregon over fellow finalists LSU, Auburn and Penn State.
Iheanacho is the No. 5 player nationally, the No. 2 offensive tackle and the No. 2 prospect in Maryland according to Rivals. He’s the third offensive line prospect to commit to Oregon and A’lique Terry this week following the flips of 4-star San Francisco (Calif.) Archbishop Riordan interior offensive lineman Tommy Tofi and 3-star Honolulu (HI) Farrington interior offensive lineman Koloi Keli from Cal.
The Maryland standout is the 13th overall commitment in Oregon’s 2026 recruiting class, which continues to climb the nation rankings after a huge week on the trail.
Iheanacho named Oregon his leader before and after he took his official visits.
“When people think of Coach (Dan) Lanning, they think, oh why would you go and play for a defensive coach? But the way I kind of think of it is he develops the best defensive players,” Iheanacho told ScoopDuck last month. “And I want to play against the best players in practice so gameday is easy.”

“It’s never a dull moment with coach. And I feel like not a lot of players kind of are able to see that so that they think they’re not allowed to talk and get a little personal with coaches. And them being able to connect with my parents is very big for me as well because this was the first time my dad had seen Eugene and my sister and my younger brother. So all my family was down here. So that was really important for me.”
Ihenacho is now the highest-ranked player in Oregon’s 2026 recruiting class, which features two 5-star prospects, along with On3 Industry 5-star Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman safety Jett Washington.
