QUAAACK: Nasir Wyatt Commits to Oregon
Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks just scored a massive commitment. 2025 Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei linebacker Nasir Wyatt has committed to Oregon.
He announced his decision on the On3 Recruits YouTube channel.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pound backer chose the green and yellow over fellow finalists Tennessee and Texas. During his recruitment he reeled in offers from schools all over the country including Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan and Miami to name a few.

Wyatt is rated a four-star (92.72) recruit according to the On3 Industry Rankings. The same system ranks him the No. 102 player nationally, the No. 12 linebacker and the No. 9 player in California.
Wyatt’s commitment to Oregon comes on the heels of a trip to Eugene for the Ducks’ spring game last weekend. He was one of three Mater Dei players in the 2025 class to make the trip, as he was joined by his teammates Marcus Harris and Jordon Davison.
Dan Lanning and the Ducks have made Southern California a major focus on the recruiting trail and even signed a pair of All-American recruits from Mater Dei in the 2024 class in defensive lineman Aydin Breland and wide receiver Jack Ressler. Dakoda Fields, Ryan Pellum, Dillon Gresham and Kamar Mothudi round out the Southern California signees in Oregon’s most recent class.
Now the newest Duck, Wyatt had long been linked to Oregon and was a repeat visitor throughout the last year. He’s raved about the plan Tosh Lupoi has in place for him to shine as a pass rusher in Oregon’s defense.

Oregon prioritized Wyatt early in his recruitment and multiple members of the coaching staff played a big role in securing his verbal commitment Friday including Lanning, Lupoi and up-and-comer Rashad Wadood, a Southern California native who works with the cornerbacks in Eugene.
The talented Southern California linebacker is the second defensive commit in the 2025 cycle for Lanning and company, joining Concord (Calif.) De La Salle defensive lineman Matthew Johnson, who committed back in February.
Oregon’s 2025 class is now up to seven verbal commitments, headlined by five-star Tampa Bay (Fla.) Tech wide receiver Dallas Wilson. A number of high-profile Oregon targets have also locked in official visits with the Ducks including the aforementioned Harris, as well as tight end Linkon Cure, running back Dierre Hill Jr. and elite defensive back DJ Pickett.
Things certainly look like they’re heating up on the recruiting trial for the Ducks, who are also hosting former Alabama safety Peyton Woodyard for a visit this weekend. They’re currently trending in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) and are one of five schools still in the mix for former Michigan State defensive lineman Derrick Harmon.
