QUACK: Ducks Land Four-Star Quarterback Jonas Williams
Will Stein landed his quarterback of the 2025 class early in Akili Smith Jr, he’s now done the same in 2026. As the dominoes began to fall in the 2026 cycle at the position, Oregon was fortunate not to get left empty-handed.
Lincoln-Way East (Ill.) quarterback Jonas Williams is the latest quarterback to commit to Oregon. The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder is the No. 9 ranked quarterback in the On3 Industry Rankings in the 2026 class. He’s the No. 92 overall recruit in the country.

Oregon was able to beat out LSU, Ohio State, Alabama and others for his commitment.
The four-star quarterback was at Oregon last weekend for its Saturday Night Live event.
Oregon will likely take the one quarterback commit in this class. Williams is Oregon’s third 2026 commitment thus far. He joins running back Tradarian Ball, who committed just prior to SNL, and defensive lineman Tony Cumberland. Cumberland recently moved to Eugene to play his junior year of high school ball.
While his commitment might seem early, only one top 10 quarterback in the 2026 class remains uncommitted.
