QUACK: EDGE Jaxson Jones Commits to Oregon
Sunday started off with a bang for Oregon on the recruiting trail. After backing off from a commitment to Washington earlier this week, Yuma Catholic (Ariz.) EDGE Jaxson Jones has committed to Oregon following a visit.
The 6-foot-3, 215-pound defensive line prospect announced his commitment Sunday morning on social media.
Jones is commit No. 5 for the Ducks in the 2024 class. A class that currently ranks No. 11 overall in the On3 Consensus Rankings. He is the first commitment on the defensive side of the ball for the Ducks.
USC, Notre Dame, Washington and Michigan were a few of his other offers.
His On3 Consensus Ranking remains a bit low early in the evaluation period. Jones is the No. 663 ranked player overall and No. 43 EDGE in the class. However On3’s own rankings have him as the No. 33 EDGE and his rating is an 88 compared to an 85.

With quality defensive linemen at a premium in the Western footprint, this early addition makes a lot of sense for the Ducks and I would wager Jones will see his stock and rankings climb this Spring.
Jones currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $12.6K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
