QUACK: Oregon Lands Commitment from ATH Jackson Ford

Dan Lanning and his staff have pulled off another surprise commitment Wednesday. This time the Ducks are once again back in Texas where Lanning has set up shop since arriving at Oregon.
Melissa (Texas) defensive lineman Jackson Ford has committed to Oregon sources confirmed. The 6-foot-6, 235-pounder is a surprise name to Duck fans.
Ford is a versatile player listed as a defensive lineman with most of the services. However those same sources mention Ford will likely play tight end at Oregon.

Oregon currently has one tight end committed in North Medford (Ore.) star AJ Pugliano. Drew Mehringer has a bit of a slim room in terms of depth so the Ducks need numbers.
Ford is commit No. 9 for the Ducks in the 2024 recruiting class.
For more on his commitment, On3’s Sam Spiegelman caught up with Ford on why the Ducks were the top choice.
“It just came down to the staff and players,” Ford told On3 on his decision to pledge to Oregon. “Coach Lanning has done a great job building a family environment, and that’s what stood out to me. Everyone in the program is super personable. Plus, Oregon has been my dream school ever since I was a little kid.”
