QUACK: Oregon Lands Four-Star Linebacker
It’s been a turbulent past 48 hours in Oregon recruiting. But the Ducks got some much-needed good news on Friday.
After some back and forth, Long Beach Poly (Calif.) linebacker Dylan Williams made his college decision moments ago. The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder committed to Oregon over Michigan State, UCLA, Washington USC and others moments ago.

Michigan State certainly made things interesting leading up to the commitment. However Dan Lanning and his staff were able to get the momentum back and land Williams’ commitment.
“Tosh Lupoi and coach BMike are who I’m closest with, Williams told On3’s Hayes Fawcett. “They plan on using me as an ILB. This system produces a lot of great linebackers. You have to have a high football IQ and instincts to play in this defense and I feel that’s my strength. I love this game, I know the game.. and I’m not scared of anything. I know I’ll get developed here. Also shoutout Collin Locket .. he’s on the offense side of the ball but that’s my guy. Ryan Brosnan too.”

The star out of Long Beach Poly is one of the top linebackers in the country. Williams is the No. 158 ranked player nationally in the On3 Industry Rankings and the No. 17 ranked linebacker.
Oregon has a huge need at linebacker in this recruiting cycle. Williams was one of the Ducks top early priorities for Lanning in the 2024 class. He is Oregon’s first linebacker commit. However Los Alamitos (Calif.) linebacker Kamar Mothudi is set to make his commitment on July 10. The Ducks are the heavy favorite for his commitment currently.
With Williams’ commitment, Oregon is now up to 19 verbal commits in the 2024 class.
