Oregon is reportedly expected to lose a defensive staffer to a Conference USA Program.

Early Friday, Bruce Feldman of The Athletic reported that Michael Hutchings, a defensive analyst for the Ducks, is expected to become the new defensive coordinator at Western Kentucky.

A former linebacker and team captain at USC, Hutchings, 26, played for the Trojans from 2013 to 2016 before going on to work as a graduate assistant with the program. He later became their defensive quality control analyst in 2020, and then their linebackers coach in 2021.

Hutchings joined Dan Lanning’s Oregon staff as a defensive analyst in January.

Shortly after Feldman reported the news, Hutchings’ former USC teammate, Su’a Cravens, confirmed the news via Twitter.
