Powledge, 35, has spent the past two seasons on Dave Aranda’s staff as Baylor’s safeties coach and special teams coordinator. He has more than 10 years of coaching experience that includes stops at

  • Southeastern Louisiana (GA)
  • Kentucky (GA)
  • Northwestern State (running backs)
  • Sam Houston State (defensive backs/recruiting coordinator)
  • Louisiana Monroe (tight ends/ special teams)
  • Louisiana (outside linebackers/special teams)

Lanning and Powledge overlapped during their respective stints together at Sam Houston State, where Lanning was the defensive backs coach in 2014.

There is no news yet on who Lanning plans to pair with Powledge as co-defensive coordinator.
