The No. 9 Oregon Ducks will be missing some serious defensive firepower when they square off with Stanford in Palo Alto on Saturday afternoon.

According to a report from The Oregonian/OregonLive, starting safety Bryan Addison did not go through pregame warmups for the Ducks on Saturday and is expected to miss Saturday’s game.

Addison left during the third quarter of Oregon’s win over Colorado last Saturday with an apparent injury but later returned to the Ducks’ sideline. He was not seen during the open portion of Tuesday’s practice but was back at practice on Wednesday.

Additionally, Oregon junior linebacker Jestin Jacobs was not in uniform during warmups and it appears he will not be available to play. Jacobs, who transferred from Iowa during the offseason, suffered a major knee injury last fall. He has yet to play in a game this season but participated in a full-contact drill during the open portion of practice this week.

Offensive lineman Nishad Strother, who also has yet to make his season debut, was in uniform and went through pregame warmups.

RB Noah Whittington: Oregon was dealt its first significant injury blow of the season against the Buffs when star running back Noah Whittington suffered a serious injury to his left leg. Dan Lanning did not provide the exact details of Whittington’s injury, but said last Saturday that the Ducks will be without him for “a few weeks.”

Andrew Boyle: Oregon’s kickoff specialist has yet to practice since the start of the season. With Boyle sidelined, senior placekicker Camden Lewis has handled kickoff duties for the Ducks this season.

LB Jestin Jacobs: For the first time since the start of fall camp, Iowa transfer Jestin Jacobs was seen participating in a full-contact drill during an open practice. That’s a positive sign for the junior linebacker as he continues to work his way back from the knee injury he suffered last fall, but he was not on the field during warmups on Saturday.

Bryan Addison: Oregon’s starting free safety missed Tuesday’s practice for undisclosed reasons. He left the Colorado game briefly after taking a hit during the third quarter, but later returned to the sideline and appeared to be OK. Addison was back at practice on Wednesday as a full participant. But he is not in uniform on Saturday.

OL Lipe Moala: The freshman offensive lineman has been absent from practice for a few weeks and is sidelined once again in Week 5.

DL Tevita Pome’eThe freshman defensive lineman returned to practice earlier this month after having been sidelined for several weeks. But he is not available to play in Week 5.
