Well guys and gals, we did it. Another year in the books. Another recruiting cycle at least. And here we are with Oregon sitting with the No. 9 ranked class in the country per On3.

Has any program ever stolen headlines on both signing days? Should Oregon go 2 for 2 today that might very well be the case for Dan Lanning.

I won’t bore you with another intro you don’t really care about. Here are the picks.

5-Star ATH Nyckoles Harbor – Oregon

Confidence: 75%

How the winds have changed. I think this was largely by design at Oregon. Get him on campus, lock him up, but don’t let others know you are the team to beat. On Monday and nearly all of Tuesday, South Carolina was viewed as the team to beat.

Coming out of this visit I thought Oregon had jumped to the top. But that distance factor always worried me. However as we head into a decision within the next few hours, Oregon looks like the team that is now trending with most outlets. And since the ‘cat is out of the bag’ I figured I’d log my pick.

I’m going with Oregon, as I said Tuesday late afternoon, I felt was quietly sitting there as the team to beat still. Even though most were talking South Carolina and even logging late afternoon picks for the Gamecocks.

This is a big win for the Ducks should Lanning close on this prospect in the next couple of hours. Harbor is set to commit at roughly 10 AM PST on ESPN.

4-Star ATH Rodrick Pleasant – Oregon

Confidence: 85%

This is one I’ve done a lot less flip-flopping on. And once again while most have been talking up the other USC in college football, I have been steady with Oregon on Pleasant.

This one really boiled down to a tight relationship with Demetrice Martin and others. It also boiled down to the differences in defenses and Oregon’s willingness to let him run in track. All of these things really helped Oregon make it to the end for Pleasant.

I think all of those things will make Oregon the choice later today. Should the Ducks go 2 for 2 today, it would certainly manage to steal headlines once again locally and nationally.

Pleasant is set to announce at 10:30 AM PST at Serra HS.
