Scoopduck Predictions: Oregon vs Cal Score
The Ducks are back on the road this week. With another Pac-12 test at stake. However they will be facing a much lesser opponent this week.
Former Oregon player and assistant, Justin Wilcox has his hands full at Cal. The Bears are coming off a very bad loss to Colorado and his seat is getting warmer. It doesn’t get any easier for the former Duck this week with his former program riding high off a big UCLA win.
Here are the score predictions for this one from the group at ScoopDuck.
Jarrid Denney: Oregon 49, Cal 21
For all the issues Cal has had in 2022, the Golden Bears have done a solid job defensively. The most points they have allowed in a game this season is 31, which came in their Sept. 24 win over Arizona.
On Saturday, though, Oregon will buck that trend and run up the score in Berkeley.
I don’t think there’s a defense n the Pac-12 that can slow down the Ducks right now. UCLA was the group best equipped to do that, and we all saw how that went. Currently, Vegas Insider has the Ducks as a 17.5-point favorite.
They will have no problem covering that.
Joel Gunderson: Oregon 41, Cal 20
How great does it feel to enter a game like Cal — an opponent not on Oregon’s level in either talent or play — and not worry about which Oregon team will show?I feel like I’ve beaten this point to death, but it bears repeating: Dan Lanning not letting his team play down to the competition is refreshing and will be beneficial over the years. Getting young guys valuable reps in conference games is exactly what schools such as Georgia, Alabama, and Clemson do.
Cal’s defense is still good, but the only thing that will genuinely stop Oregon is Oregon, and I don’t see any way they do that enough to be in danger. And Cal’s offense presents a great “get well” game for Oregon’s defense, which could use a strong performance validated on the scoreboard.
Travis Rooke-ley: Ducks 41, Cal 16
I see no reason to believe our offense slows down this week, despite Cal’s ability to slow us down over the years on defense. I think Dillingham continues his mastery, and Nix has another efficient game spreading the ball around. Count me in for another 200 plus through the ground and air, defense gets stops and holds Cal to FGs, and the Ducks cruise to a relatively easy victory.

Corpatty: Oregon 35, Cal 20
Coming off its biggest win of the season, this would be a prime spot for an Oregon letdown game. However even if Oregon doesn’t play its best, the Ducks simply have too much firepower for Cal. I expect Wilcox to come up with a defensive scheme that will slow down the Oregon offense. But Oregon has too many weapons to be held down all game and the Ducks pull away in the second half.
QB11: Oregon 45, Cal 20
Oregon has a hangover that requires this game to be competitive later than it should, but ultimately the Oregon offense finds its way and get out of Berkley with a multi-score win.
Jhop: Oregon 55, Cal 12
This is the one. No sloppy hangover game. I won’t believe it. Just a hyper-focused Oregon ready to take the next step this season.
Cal is bad. Oregon is rolling. The betting line keeps giving Cal more and more points. That’s because bettors see this as a massive opportunity.
Cal’s defense will not stop Oregon. Once the Ducks build an early lead, Cal will be forced to throw the ball, which is not a strong suit for them. The snowball will get bigger and bigger later into the game.
Lots of backups will see quality time this week.
