ScoopDuck Predictions: Oregon vs UCLA Score
The showdown in Eugene is creeping closer and closer. Oregon fans are buzzing about this game at a level we haven’t seen in quite some time.
I think fans were anxious about the Ohio State game last year. But that was different. That was a road game and it was early in the season. This one isn’t magnified because Chip Kelly is returning to Autzen, it’s a conference opponent and both teams have solid records and are quality top ten teams.
There’s a lot on the line. And it’s all very exciting. So here is how we see this one playing out later this week.
Check out all of the score predictions from our ScoopDuck team.
Travis Rooke-ley: Oregon 38, UCLA 28
I am surprisingly calm about this game given the conference implications that come of the result. The winner of this game has an absolutely huge leg up on the title chase, and will have the big time feel we’ve missed at Autzen. This will be UCLA’s first game this year in front of a real crowd, and DTR has notoriously struggled on the road in his career. I think our offense moves the ball well, our defense makes enough plays, and we leave Saturday firmly in the Top 10 and controlling our destiny towards a special season.
Jarrid Denney: Oregon 42, UCLA 31
This isn’t the same Bruins squad that the Ducks snuck past last October in Pasadena. UCLA stops the run as well as any team in the country and is incredibly dynamic on the offensive side of the ball. It’s the best team Chip Kelly has had since he returned to the college coaching ranks.
Even still, I feel like Oregon is going to make a statement on Saturday. The Ducks are physical enough up front to run on the Bruins and have improved enough defensively to come up with the necessary stops.
Autzen is going to be rocking, and Oregon will emerge from Saturday looking like the best team in the Pac-12.
Corpatty: Oregon 44, UCLA 38
I expect this top 10 battle to be a good old-fashioned highly entertaining Pac-12 shootout. With both teams having a bye week to prepare for this game, the offenses will know exactly how to attack the weaknesses of each defense. Both DTR and Nix will have big days through the air and on the ground. Oregon gets the ball down 38-37 with 2:07 left in the game and Nix leads the offense for the game-winning score. Oregon remains the only unbeaten Pac-12 team in conference play and puts itself on a clear path for Vegas.

Joel Gunderson: Oregon 42, UCLA 31
In the year 2022 — from a college football perspective — few things worry me more than Chip Kelly coming off of a bye week. Five years into his tenure, the Bruins finally look like a Kelly product, and they enter Autzen with a fist full of confidence and bravado.
But so does Oregon. And the Ducks have something their opposition won’t on Saturday: The crowd.
I mean this with all the fervor my typing can muster: Autzen must be borderline-psychotic during this game. The BYU game was nice, and Stanford had more buzz with the students back, but this is on another level. It’s a top-10, Gameday, Josh Pate, Chip Kelly, statement game, and it’s been far too long since Autzen truly, ruthlessly, ferociously roared.
Let’s end that. Send the message down to Athens, Georgia, that the opening game didn’t break us; it only woke the beast.
Jhop: Oregon 34, UCLA 24
Everything about this game screams offensive shoot-out. Which becomes the classic start slow, feel each other out type of game in the end. It won’t surprise me if its 14-10 at half or something along those lines. Maybe not, but that’s how I’m predicting it.
I’ve got Oregon winning and I think both times go from a conservative first half to opening things up in the second half. I have confidence in the Oregon run game and defense to be able to get it done in the end. If there is any chance Oregon can make UCLA start counting on DTR for bit passing plays, I think Oregon will take that gamble.
