ScoopDuck Roundtable: Offensive Player of the Game vs WSU
Oregon should not have much trouble scoring on Saturday. If they do, well then we may have bigger problems.
There’s a number of ways this game could go. Oregon could come out and strike early and possibly put this game away by half. Or we could see the Ducks pound the ball and chew up some clock. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
Until then, here are our offensive player of the game predictions.
Jarrid Denney: Troy Franklin
I think we’ve officially reached the point where Troy Franklin is an undisputed top-five receiver in all of college football. From both a talent and production standpoint, he is working his way into the conversation of the top receiver in program history. I don’t expect him to slow down anytime soon.
Joel Gunderson: Jordan James
Did anyone else leave the UW game depressed, heartbroken, numb…yet extremely excited about what Jordan James did against the Huskies? Taking nothing away from Irving, who was sometimes unreal, what James brings to the Ducks is unique. Had they pulled out the win, his 4th-quarter touchdown run would have been talked about for years after he drug multiple Huskies into the endzone. Knowing the gauntlet Oregon is in, I expect another game of evenly split reps at running back, and James is ready to unleash his fury.

Doug Scott: Bucky Irving
Bucky picks up where he left off in Seattle, running for 150+ yards and notching 2 touchdowns on the day in an easy Oregon victory.
Corpatty: Troy Franklin
I look for Oregon to continue to work on the desk ball and Franklin will be the main recipient. I expect Franklin to haul in two long TD passes and exceed 100 yards receiving yet again.
Jhop: Tez Johnson
I think Oregon knows they need one of the other wide receivers in this offense to step up. It doesn’t mean they will need to be as good as Troy, just a viable threat to help keep him from being doubled. My money is on Tez and it’s time for him to have a breakout game. This is a great chance to get his confidence up and help Bo find that second option. I’m betting on a big game from Tez Saturday.
