ScoopDuck Roundtable: Opposing Maryland Player Most Concerned With
The wide open Maryland Terrapins bring a lot of firepower on offense to Eugene this weekend. The problem is they have a tough time keeping points off the board in most games.
Mike Locksley is known for slinging the rock around the field with his offense. As such that passing attack is being talked about early on in this matchup.
Here are our players we are most concerned with heading into Saturday’s game in Eugene.
Max Torres: WR Tai Felton
Felton is the Terps’ leading wideout and he’s had some big games this year, going for more than 100 yards in five of the team’s eight games. We know Maryland loves to throw the ball and it seems like if one wideout is going to push the Oregon secondary it’s Felton. Maryland was held scoreless by Minnesota in two quarters last week and if I’m the Terps I come out and take some deep shots against the Ducks and try to grab some momentum.
Linden Hile: DB Glendon Miller
It’s a bit harder to single out an opposing player to be worried about this week than most, but turnovers can be the great equalizer between varying calibers of team and Miller has three interceptions on the year. The redshirt senior hybrid defensive back has been a force for Maryland’s secondary and made plays that have kept them in games they likely shouldn’t have been in.

I think winning the turnover battle by two is the only way the Terrapins have a real shot in this game and I think Miller would almost certainly have to have a hand in that.
Jhop: QB Billy Edwards Jr.
If anyone can keep Maryland in the game it’s Edwards. He’ll be counting on his receivers to get open but if he can’t deliver the ball they are in for a loooooong night in Eugene. This season he has over 2,300 yards and 13 TD’s against 6 INT’s. But he has taken 23 sacks this season that’s probably where Oregon makes its impact. Hopefully the front can get after the QB and keep him from launching bombs.
