ScoopDuck Roundtable: Other Games We're Watching this Weekend
There are some interesting games around the country this weekend in college football. Of course we have the Civil War and Apple Cup out West. Both of which fans are anxious to see played in September.
But there are some other very big games this weekend. And we offered up which ones we are anxious to see. Here are the choices below.
Linden Hile: Colorado @ Colorado State
While it may not be the game with the most postseason implications, I think this is a must-win spot for Colorado. After surviving a gunfight with North Dakota State then getting mauled by Nebraska a week ago, this could be one of the Buffaloes’ best chances at a win for the rest of the season.
A 7-point underdog per DraftKings, Colorado State absolutely has the artillery needed to unseat Colorado in this spot. This is a classic case of one team having everything to gain and nothing to lose in a game against a unit that has nothing to gain and everything to lose.
I love that setup for CSU and if they’re able to knock off Colorado on Saturday, there’s a realistic chance the Buffaloes don’t win again the rest of the year.

Max Torres: Memphis @ Florida State (9am PT ESPN)
Florida State has gotten off to a slow start this year at 0-2. How bad would it be after the season they had last year to fall to 0-3 this weekend? And against Memphis, where Norvell used to coach? I’m pulling for Florida State here because DJ U is a West Coast kid and because I think college football is more fun when the big brand schools are good. I wonder what the recruiting implications of an 0-3 start in Tallahassee would be. The Noles are favored by 6.5 points. Hopefully it’s a good one.
Collin King: Arizona @ K-State
Arizona struggled last week against Northern Arizona, while Kansas State escaped an upset scare from Tulane. Both teams have offenses that can really light up the scoreboard but I wonder which defense can get a stop first. In my opinion Kansas State has the better defense but the worse offense of the two teams. My score prediction is 45-37 in favor of Arizona.
Jhop: Indiana @ UCLA
Some great selections above so I figured I’d add another. This one is interesting because it marks the first B1G matchup with the new members. It’s also one Oregon fans will be anxious to see the outcome of to get a feel for this UCLA team. I think the Bruins should win this one but I do expect it to be a close game. It’s also after the Civil War game is over so it could be a nice little night cap for Duck fans.
