Welcome to thirsty Thursday ladies and gents. We are one sleep away from the next Oregon game with Michigan State.

In the meantime we finish out some of our weekly coverage with our next roundtable. Who will step up on offense and defense for Oregon this Friday night? Well here are our predictions below on which Oregon players make an impact on this game.

Max Torres:

Offense: Noah Whittington

Most of the rushing attack has been Jordan James this year. Whittington hasn’t popped too much since his epic kickoff return against Boise State. Maybe this is the week we see him get more involved in the offense.

Defense: Brandon Johnson

I wonder if Michigan State will be able to pass the ball a bit better than UCLA. Either way I think Johnson is going to be flying around Friday night and could help the Ducks continue to force turnovers and be active breaking up passes.

Collin King:

Offense: Jordan James

Jordan James has already had two games with over 100 rushing yards this season and was very close to 100 in the other two as well. Currently Michigan State has the 59th best rush defense in the country and allows well over 100 rushing yards a game, they have also been allowing an average over 39 rush attempts per game. Teams have been running the ball over 55% of the plays against this defense and there is a glaring weakness.

Defense: Jordan Burch

Jordan Burch I predicted to have a double digit sack season, and while he might not reach that, his impact goes far beyond just the sacks. The pressures, and run defense allow Burch to affect the game in a multitude of ways. It will be imperative to rattle Michigan State QB Aidan Chiles, who is young, inexperienced, and so far this season turnover prone.

Linden Hile:

Offense: Kenyon Sadiq

Sadiq looks better with each passing week and with Terrance Ferguson potentially out on the mend from a concussion he suffered against UCLA this could be his chance to capitalize. I’d expect the Ducks to divert most of Ferguson’s targets to Sadiq and that, plus his typical role, should give him adequate touches to have a great game Friday.

Defense: Jamaree Caldwell

Michigan State will likely try to do what’s in their power to keep the ball out of harm’s way Friday and that usually involves a good dose of the run game. Caldwell represents likely Oregon’s best interior run defender and I think he’ll be in prime position to pop this weekend.

Jhop:

Offense: Jordan James

I am hoping we see the run game firing on Friday night. I would love to see Whittington get in on the action but I think Oregon will ride James. This will give me more confidence going into the Ohio State game and the rest of this season. I’d love to see Oregon roll up a couple hundred rush yards and some tuggies on the ground.

Defense: Derrick Harmon

He plays his old team. And I’m sure there’s no bad blood but I’m sure he’d love to show them what they are missing out on. Harmon has been a force and I think we’ll see him be highly disruptive against this Michigan State offensive line. Look for Harmon to impact this game as long as he’s in there Friday night.
