ScoopDuck Roundtable: Score Predictions vs Michigan State
It’s mid-day Wednesday so it’s time to get those score predictions locked and loaded. As we all know Oregon will host Michigan State Friday night in Eugene. And the Ducks are a heavy favorite headed into the contest.
Here are the score predictions from the ScoopDuck crew. Which one do you agree with or do you hvve your very own?
Collin King: Oregon 37, Michigan State10
Michigan State was dominated this past week by Ohio State and I think the only way they put up more than say 15 or 16 points is with a major lapse from the Ducks. I know I’ve made a few score predictions similar to this, but this is just how I see this one shaping out. Oregon has far too much firepower for Michigan State to handle and in year one under Jonathan Smith, doesn’t have the personnel to stand a real threat.
Max Torres: Oregon 42, Michigan State 17
Oregon is coming off a commanding win over UCLA last week, albeit one where we can probably agree they left some meat on the bone, at least offensively. That said, the defense looked great and should be able to handle a Spartans offense that only put up 246 yards a week ago. They’re led by a promising but inexperienced quarterback in Aidan Chiles, who’s turned the ball over in all but one game this year. I see the Ducks forcing multiple turnovers like they did last week. Offensively the Ducks can’t let their foot off the gas and I think we see a cleaner and more complete showing against the Spartans in a dominant win at home.
Linden Hile: Oregon 35, Michigan State 14
Ironically this is almost exactly the same score I predicted last week against UCLA but this game feels a lot like that in my opinion. While Oregon gets this game at home, Michigan State is a better team than the Bruins and I expect the Ducks’ game plan to be fairly similar to last Saturday.

I think Oregon will force a turnover or two from Michigan State quarterback Aidan Chiles and use them to overcome potential offensive issues going against what’s been a quality defense.
Jhop: Oregon 45, Michigan State 17
A Friday night game in Autzen stadium should bring a big win for Duck fans. Michigan State really isn’t a very good team overall and Aidan Chiles is a turnover machine. I think that’s a pretty bad recipe for the Spartans with this Oregon defense. I expect Oregon to have the chance to get up early in this one and give Lanning a chance to rest his starters for a big portion of the second half.
I know we’ve felt that way before and it hasn’t fully panned out. But I think we’ll see it this Friday in Eugene.
