It’s hump day which means it’s all downhill from here until Saturday. And I know many of you are anxious to see this year’s Civil war with a twist. This game is being played in September for the first time in a revised Civil war meetup after conference realignment.

It’s commendable the two schools were able to get this game on the schedule with such short notice. But it’s still going to be a hostile game between two familiar foes. Here are our predictions for this weekend’s matchup in Corvallis.

Collin King: Oregon 35-14

I really hope that the Beavers don’t pose that much of a threat against Oregon seeing as how they struggled to score against San Diego State this past weekend. It would truly be a shame if Oregon didn’t light up their rival here considering all of the losses Oregon State has suffered from a player standpoint.

Linden Hile: Oregon 28 – 24

I think we have a dogfight on our hands, folks. If you take the Vegas spread and win total as facts, Oregon should win this game by about two touchdowns.

That isn’t what we’ve seen from the Ducks though. I think it will be difficult for an Oregon team that’s been sluggish thus far to flip the switch in a hostile road environment, the first they’ve faced this year.

All of that being said, the Ducks are a vastly more talented team than Oregon State and they’ve found ways to heat up when it’s mattered most. I’ll take Oregon to win another last-second nail-biter.

Max Torres: Oregon 31 – 17

Until Oregon’s offensive line proves that it’s sorted out its issues, I’m not ready to predict a boatload of points for the Ducks. So I’ll stick right around what we saw last week. This is also the first road game of the year, and in a rivalry setting no less. Even if they haven’t played any heavy hitters so far, Oregon State has played solid defense so far. They’ve struggled to pass the ball on offense, and I think that makes them one dimensional come Saturday.

Jhop: Oregon 38-24

I’m hoping to see an improved Oregon on the field in Corvallis. I think we saw Oregon work out a few kinks in the second half vs Boise State but we certainly have yet to see a clean or a complete game from the Ducks. This might be the Ducks last chance to fool me giving them the benefit of the doubt. But Dan Lanning should have no issues getting his group amped up to play the Beavs and the good news is this isn’t much of a road game.
