ScoopDuck Roundtable: Score Predictions vs Stanford
IT’s HUMP DAY which means we are halfway to game day. Which also means it’s time to post our score predictions. Some of which might surprise you.
Oregon on paper should absolutely smoke Stanford. But they’ll play the game anyways. Does this game have some ‘trap game’ tendencies?
Let’s hope not. Here are the scores.
Corpatty: Oregon 42, Stanford 20
Under “normal” circumstances Oregon should win this game in a laugher. However, the Ducks are coming off an emotionally charged win over Colorado and are looking forward to their bye week and Husky Hate week. In addition, Stanford Stadium will likely be less than half full. Finally I expect Oregon to keep things vanilla not wanting to put anything new on film for the Huskies to see. All of these factors are going to make it difficult for Oregon to get up for this game and play with the energy they normally do.
So I’m expecting a bit of a sluggish performance from Oregon, one that at times looks like they are sleepwalking through the game. That said, Oregon still wins this game by 3 scores and Ducks fans won’t have to sweat out another Stanford nail biter.
Joel Gunderson: Oregon 52, Stanford 10
A relaxing game on the farm? I mean, it sounds odd to say, and it feels dirty even thinking it, but I don’t see any way that Stanford keeps this close.

Oregon is on a mission. All Colorado did was piss off the entire program, and it feels like they know something special is brewing. Lanning played it perfectly against the Buffs, and if he can channel that same focus this week, Oregon will blow this thing open quick.
We’re due a decisive, statement-win against the Cardinal, and it comes this week.
Doug Scott: Oregon 52, Stanford 10
Oregon dominates this one from start to finish against the overmatched Cardinal, who never threaten in this one. Jestin Jacobs shakes some rust off in his Duck Debut and the offense and defense both keep rolling on
Jhop: Oregon 38, Stanford 14
Not a huge win by score differential, but I think after a quarter or so the game will never really be in doubt. How does Stanford beat Oregon you ask? They shouldn’t. But you unload the trick plays and ‘sell the farm.’ Maybe you pull a rabbit or two out of the hat and get lucky. Catch Oregon a little unprepared looking ahead at what’s next and being on the road. This falls into a bit of ‘trap game’ territory for me. However Stanford is really bad, so the outcome will never really be in question.
Jarrid Denney: Oregon 49, Stanford 14
I’m not gonna overthink this one. Oregon looked like a national title contender last week and Stanford is one of the worst Power 5 teams in the country. The Ducks will take care of business.
