ScoopDuck Roundtable: Score Predictions vs USC
We are at the mid-way point of the week which means its time to get our predictions posted. Like we do every week we all predict our scores with a little reason how we came to our predictions.
And yes, this week we’ll kick it off with Corpatty who even finds himself picking the Ducks in this one.
Corpatty: Oregon 38, USC 31
USC has scored 40+ points in 8 of their 10 games this season. So holding the Trojans to 31 points is going to be a challenge for Oregon. But I think Oregon’s defense will be up to the task. They will give up some plays, but overall the Oregon defense is able to relatively contain the USC offense. This game is going to be close throughout, but Oregon puts this game away with a late touchdown and a turnover to seal it.
Jarrid Denney: Oregon 59, USC 24
Autzen is going to be absolutely rocking for this one and Oregon is going to be looking to make a statement. USC’s defense remains a mess, and the Trojans simply aren’t going to have an answer for the Bo Nix and the UO offense. I’ve got the Ducks winning big.

Joel Gunderson: Oregon 45, USC 42
A few unknowns make this a tricky one to predict.
How does the weather hold up? If it rains, it certainly seems to favor Oregon.
How do the USC defenders approach this game? Does Grinch’s firing rejuvenate them?
Is the situation too big for Oregon, with everything on the line?
Ultimately, Oregon’s run game and the electric Autzen atmosphere are too much. As dangerous as Caleb Williams and the Trojans’ offense is — and Zacharia Branch on special teams — the Ducks have Bo Nix at the helm, Dan Lanning behind him, and the most physical group of trench monsters on the field.
A wild, crazy night in Autzen ends with an Oregon victory in an instant classic.
Doug Scott: Oregon 48, USC 35
Oregon keeps this one between 1 and 2 possessions for the majority of the 2nd half and cruises to a comfortable victory.
Jhop: Oregon 50, USC 28
If Oregon comes out hot, my prediction will be blown to bits. I know USC made a DC switch, but the same pieces remain and even if they play 25% better (generous) they are still a bottom third defense nationally. I think SC will come out with just a bit of fire to start the game. And I’m thinking this one is within 10 points at half. But Oregon plays well in the second half and their depth wears teams down. That will happen once again in Eugene Saturday as the Ducks cruise to victory and Caleb Williams is sent to tears once again.
