ScoopDuck Roundtable: Toughest Remaining Game
Rounding out our bye week roundtables we take one last look at the schedule. Of course Oregon is 5-0 and faces its toughest test this weekend in Seattle.
It will come as no surprise UW was a pretty overwhelming pick below. It’s going to be a big test between the two Pac-12 elites.
But let’s round out the bye week content as we now enter Hate week officially.
Joel Gunderson: Washington
We can sit here and outthink ourselves, citing the raucous nature of Utah’s home field, USC’s offense, or even the tricky placement of the WSU game. But if we’re honest with ourselves, no game on the schedule poses more of a challenge than the one eight days from now up in Seattle.
We know why. Not only do the Huskies have, arguably, the most explosive offense in the nation, but they bring two other factors as well: Hatred and hostility. Husky stadium would be rocking for any top-10 matchup; that it’s their biggest rival, only ups the ante.
I like Oregon’s chances to run the table starting October 21st. Every team left has either a massive disadvantage on one side of the ball or lacks the talent to hang with a motivated Ducks squad.

But that’s on the 21st. The 14th is staring us right in the face, and it will be every bit as challenging as we all fear.
Jarrid Denney: Washington
I honestly think whichever team wins in Seattle next Saturday is going to eventually earn a spot in the College Football Playoff. Oregon and Washington are both that good. My second-place pick would be Utah. The Utes have shown some major flaws during the early portion of the season, but we all know how difficult it is for opposing teams to win in Salt Lake.
Doug Scott: Washington
UW on the Road in Husky Stadium. Oregon is the more balanced team offensively and more complete team on both sides of the ball. But this place will be loud and raucous and the Huskies are explosive as can be. This one won’t be easy for the Ducks but it’s one they can certainly win.
Jhop: Utah
Now hear me out. Washington is really good and I’m amped for this one. But this game will not go under Oregon’s radar at all. I think the Ducks defense will be the difference in the end. But Utah could sneak up on Oregon because they are good, but not elite. It’s a road game which is also going to make it tough. Don’t get me wrong, UW will be no easy dub. But I figured I’d offer a different pick and here it is. And no, I wasn’t picking USC.
