Tez Johnson Selected in Seventh Round of 2025 NFL Draft

Oregon Ducks wide receiver Tez Johnson brought a different dynamic to Will Stein’s offense. On Saturday, the electric route runner was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the 235th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The 5-foot-10, 154-pound wide receiver started his college career at Troy before transferring to Oregon prior to the 2023 season. He spent the 2023 and 2024 seasons with the Ducks and set a program record for most receptions in a single season with 86 in 2023.
In his two seasons at Oregon he played in 26 games. In those games he caught 169 total passes for 2,080 yards and 20 touchdowns. Johnson averaged 12.3 yards per catch over his career.

He led Oregon in all major receiving categories: receptions (83), receiving yards (898) and receiving touchdowns (10). Johnson was a favorite target for quarterbacks Bo Nix and Dillon Gabriel in his Oregon career.
Johnson had an incredibly productive two seasons at Oregon, but a lot of fans were shocked to see him run a 4.55 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. It doesn’t look like that one moment defined how NFL teams viewed him as a prospect, with him finding a home in Tampa Bay.
