Top 50 Safety Xavier Filsaime Names Five Finalists
Oregon keeps its national assault on the recruiting landscape. Since Dan Lanning’s arrival, it’s been clear Oregon will keep recruiting across the entire country looking for the best.
That has the Ducks in the mix for one of the nation’s elite safeties in the 2024 class.
McKinney (Texas) safety Xavier Filsaime announced Wednesday Oregon was one of his five finalists. The list of schools includes: Oregon, LSU, USC, Florida and Georgia.
The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder is the nation’s No. 28 ranked player in the On3 Consensus Rankings. Filsaime is the No. 2 ranked safety nationally and No. 6 ranked player in Texas.

Under Lanning, Texas has become a top priority in recruiting.
Filsaime told On3’s Hayes Fawcett why Oregon made the cut.
“I went to Oregon once and when I went it just felt like a family vibe, it felt like home,” Filsaime said. “I have a good relationship with everyone there, and I’m looking forward to trying to get back out there.”
Currently Georgia leads the On3 RPM with 26% chance to land the elite four-star.
Following his visit, Filsaime had this to say about Oregon with ScoopDuck’s Sean Nelson.
“One of the things I specifically like about Oregon is the family vibe I get from them,” he said. “You don’t really get that everywhere.
“Coach Lanning and Hampton are very understanding when it comes to people.”
