In three seasons at Oregon, Kasevich slashed .303/.374/.424 with 96 RBIs, 21 doubles, and 11 homers. He was widely considered one of the top defensive shortstops in the country in 2022 and was named to the Pac-12 all-conference team.
In addition to his glove at shortstop, Kasevich was also a coveted prospect due to his ability to put the ball in play. During his sophomore season, he struck out just 16 times in 245 at-bats.
The slot value for the 60th overall pick is $1,216,100. Major League clubs have until August 1 to sign their draft picks.
