Trio of Ducks Set to Represent Oregon at Big Ten Media Days
The 2024 college football season continues to approach rapidly, as we’re in the last full month of the year without football.
One of the main highlights of the preseason is media days, where journalists and fans alike can get a better feel for the teams they’ll cover and root for in the upcoming season. For Duck fans, the Big Ten Media days will help familiarize them with a slew of new teams their team will play in a new conference.
On Thursday, the conference announced that head coach Dan Lanning will be joined by three players in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium on July 25. Quarterback Dillon Gabriel, tight end Terrance Ferguson and linebacker Jeffrey Bassa will represent the Ducks at the team’s first ever Big Ten Media Days.
Gabriel enters his final college football season and his first in Eugene after spending the last two seasons at Oklahoma. He’s been tabbed as one of the best quarterbacks in the country and will step into the shoes of Heisman finalist quarterback Bo Nix, who was selected by the Denver Broncos with the 12th overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft.
Ferguson returns for another year at Oregon after snagging 42 balls for 414 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns. He enters the season with 91 career receptions, which is tied for fourth most all-time at Oregon (Ed Dickson 124). He’ll work alongside Patrick Herbert and Kenyon Sadiq in Drew Mehringer’s tight end room.
