Trio of Predictions for Bama Safety Peyton Woodyard
Wednesday morning Oregon fans were treated to some good news. In about 48 hours the story has gone from Alabama safety Peyton Woodyard jumping into the portal to Oregon becoming a serious contender.
Now it just looks like Oregon is flat out the team to beat.
On3’s Pete Nakos has had this story covered since the beginning and has put in a prediction for the Ducks. Nakos was also joined with a ‘Fong Bomb’ also in favor of Oregon. Both are at 60-percent.
Not that I needed both of those picks but it certainly helped confirm what I’d been hearing yesterday, this one is Oregon’s to lose.
Also on Wednesday morning I jumped on the ‘bandwagon’ and logged a prediction for Oregon with the soon-to-be former Alabama safety.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder signed with Alabama as a part of its 2024 class. He was ranked the No. 128 overall player and No. 7 ranked safety in the country. While Oregon was a ‘hat on the table’ in his recruitment, the Ducks weren’t really a serious player. Georgia, Bama, USC were the big three for most of his recruitment.

Woodyard is taking a visit to Oregon this weekend his father told Nakos. Right now it’s the only known visit for the former four-star.
As we know Oregon had its eyes out for a potential safety in the portal but didn’t really seem to push. There were some initial reports around Jacoby Matthews from Texas A&M but those quickly faded based on intel.
There were two positions Oregon seemed likely to make a move in the Spring transfer portal window if they did. That was at safety and also at defensive tackle. It seems like Lanning might have one of those ‘needs’ filled while we wait to see if Oregon pushes for Derrick Harmon or any of the other defensive line transfers the Ducks have been linked to.
