As a true sophomore last season, Troy Franklin emerged as the type of bonafide No. 1 receiver Oregon has been lacking for the past half-decade. The 6-foot-3 wideout caught a team-high 61 passes for 891 yards and nine touchdowns. He racked up at least 130 yards in three different games and produced pivotal plays during the Ducks' wins over UCLA and Washington State. Franklin was Oregon's most productive receiver since Dillon Mitchell in 2018. He'll enter the 2023 season as one of the top returning receivers in the Pac-12 and could begin to generate NFL Draft buzz in the coming months. And yet, as soon as Oregon's season ended, Franklin immediately went to work looking for ways to fine-tune his craft. "Once the season was over and he got back from break, he was like 'Coach, what do I need to get better at?'" Oregon coach receivers coach Junior Adams said. "Then we dove into his film and his tape and we talked about some areas where he can improve at. What Troy has done between January and now — he's working on those things."
