Two Oregon Ducks projected as first-round picks in PFF's latest 2024 NFL mock draft
Over the weekend, Pro Football Focus released an updated first-round projection for the 2024 NFL Draft, and a pair of Oregon Ducks made the cut.
Former Oregon quarterback Bo Nix and receiver Troy Franklin both landed inside PFF’s 32-pick first-round mock.
Trevor Sikkema has tabbed Nix, who became the fourth Heisman Trophy finalist in UO history this fall, as the 11th overall pick to the Minnesota Vikings.
Nix finished the 2023 season with 4,508 yards and 45 passing touchdowns. He broke former Alabama quarterback Mac Jones’ NCAA record for completion percentage after passing at a 77.45% clip.

Here’s the rundown from Sikkema on Nix.
“Five quarterbacks in the top 12 would make for a wild opening night of the 2024 NFL Draft, but until these teams actually fill their needs at the position, dipping into this very talented 2024 signal-caller class again feels plausible. If you’ve seen what Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell has done with his quarterbacks this year, you have to be somewhat excited about what he could do with Nix’s experience, high football IQ, and dual-threat ability.”
Franklin, meanwhile, is projected to be selected 29th overall by the Buffalo Bills.
During his junior season with the Ducks, Franklin hauled in 81 receptions and set Oregon single-season records for receiving yards (1,383) and touchdowns (14).
Here’s what Sikkema had to say about Franklin.
“Franklin would be the perfect complement to Stefon Diggs if the Bills are looking to prioritize their WR2 spot this draft. Franklin was one of the top deep-threat players in the country this season, with 37 explosive plays of 15 yards or more, and he showed off his quick feet with 14 missed tackles forced.“
Last season, former Oregon star cornerback Christian Gonzalez was selected in the first round, with the 17th overall pick, by the New England Patriots. He was one of seven of six Ducks who heard their names called over the course of seven rounds.
