Updated Bowl Projections for Oregon
Well the Ducks won’t be in Las Vegas this year. After a tough season finale loss to Oregon State on Saturday, the Ducks saw their Pac-12 championship hopes dashed and bowl game stock tumble.
Dan Lanning still led this team to a 9-3 season however Utah and USC will square off for the Pac-12 championship on Friday night.
Oregon meanwhile now waits to see where they will play in the postseason. There are a few options on the table. Here is a look at some of the projections from various outlets.
Jerry Palm – CBS
Holiday Bowl: 5:00 PM PST – December 28 (San Diego, Calif.)
Oregon vs Duke
Analysis: This seems very logical for the Ducks. This scenario has USC in the CFB playoff and Washington in the Rose bowl. Duke had a very strong season and would be a good battle for the Ducks. However if Bo Nix does opt out of the bowl game I really have no idea how to predict how this one would turn out. We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it I suppose.

Holiday Bowl: 5:00 PM PST – December 28 (San Diego, Calif.)
Oregon vs FSU
Analysis: Now that would be interesting. Does Dilly return to coach this game for Oregon facing his former boss? Again, is Bo Nix playing? A pair of former Ducks in Trey Benson and Mycah Pittman face their former teams. This one could be fun.

Holiday Bowl: 5:00 PM PST – December 28 (San Diego, Calif.)
Kyle Bonagura: Florida State vs. Oregon
Mark Schlabach: North Carolina vs. Oregon
Analysis: Holiday bowl seems to be the overwhelming favorite. It’s really just a matter of who Oregon faces. We’ve had Duke, FSU and now North Carolina as listed opponents. All three would be an entertaining game for Ducks fans to travel South.

Jimmy Kimmel L.A. Bowl: 12:30 PM PST – December 17 (Los Angeles, Calif.)
Oregon vs Boise State
Analysis: This seems like a bit of a letdown but you never know. Of course Oregon has ties to Boise State given the games these two have already played and Andy Avalos leaving Oregon for his alma mater. At least so far Oregon fans are being treated to Southern California weather will all of the bowl games listed.
