Watch: Dan Lanning discusses Oregon's season-opening loss to Georgia
Shortly after the final whistle blew on Oregon’s disastrous season-opening loss to Georgia on Saturday, Dan Lanning met with reporters to discuss where his program goes from here.
When asked to assess where the Ducks need to improve, he gave a lengthy answer that shed light on just how poor Oregon was on both sides of the ball against the Bulldogs.
“I think we need to create some more explosives offensively, and defensively we have to stop those,” Lanning said. “We have to tackle much better. We didn’t tackle well enough on the perimeter. We didn’t get off the blocks well on the perimeter. I think they were able to take advantage of some of our rush. … Obviously, third down kind of on both sides. I think we were a little bit better on offense than we were on defense.
“We weren’t good at all today on defense, so that’s going to be an emphasis for us.”
