Watch: Dan Lanning discusses rematch with Alabama, what he will bring to Eugene
Dan Lanning has spent the past few weeks pulling double duty.
By day, Lanning is still serving as Georgia’s defensive coordinator as he helps the Bulldogs prepare for a rematch with Alabama in the Jan. 10 College Football Playoff National Championship.
By night, Oregon’s newly-hired head coach is assembling a high-caliber coaching staff and getting the ball rolling on recruiting.

Lanning spoke with reporters via Zoom for what will likely be his final interview as a Georgia staffer. He spoke for nearly 20 minutes and fielded a variety of questions regarding everything from the rematch with the Crimson Tide, to how his success at Georgia might translate to Eugene.
“One of the big benefits of being at Oregon is it’s a national brand,” Lanning said. “We can go anywhere in the nation and be able to sign players. I think you can just bring that relentless pursuit that we operate with day in and day out (at Georgia) and the organization behind it; we can bring the mentality with how we play football, to a certain level.”
