Watch: Former Oregon star Devon Allen displays world-class speed to score first NFL touchdown

Devon Allen created a buzz among Oregon fans earlier this year when he announced that he was making a return to the sport of football.
One of the top 110-meter hurdlers in the world, Allen is a two-time Olympian who placed fourth at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He owns the fastest 110-meter hurdle time in the world in 2022 after finishing in 12.84 seconds on June 12 in New York. That was good for the third-fastest time in history.
So, it came as a surprise to many when Allen, 27, announced in April that he would perform at Oregon’s pro day and was pursuing an NFL career. Allen was a star receiver for the Ducks but played his last college football game in Sept. 2016 when he suffered a torn ACL. Shortly after, he opted to turn pro in track and field.
Now, Allen has signed with the Philadelphia Eagles and is proving that he is still very much a two-sport star. Just 34 days after he competed in the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Allen caught his first NFL touchdown for the Eagles on Sunday during a preseason matchup with the Cleveland Browns.

Allen put his world-class speed on display to haul in a 55-yard touchdown from Eagles’ reserve quarterback Reid Sinnett.
That was Allen’s only catch of the day and his first catch of the preseason. He was targeted one other time on Sunday.
Allen, a fan favorite among many Ducks fans for his joyful personality, followed up his touchdown with a celebration that is unique to him.
