What addition of Casey Kelly means for Oregon's offense
Oregon's latest transfer portal addition may not serve as the flashiest roster move the Ducks have made this offseason. But in landing a commitment from former Ole Miss tight end Casey Kelly, Dan Lanning's program shored up a significant position of need. Kelly, who spent the first three seasons of his career operating in a reserve role with the Rebels, announced on Friday that he has committed to transfer to Oregon. In 19 career games over three seasons at Ole Miss, Kelly caught 28 passes for 282 yards and three touchdowns. His most productive campaign came in 2021 when he caught 17 passes for 150 yards and a touchdown in just five games. For an Oregon team that badly needed to add a proven contributor at tight end, landing Kelly via the portal could prove to be a savvy roster transaction.
