Following Michigan’s win over Washington in the national championship game at NRG Stadium on Monday, the final AP Poll of the season was released.

The Oregon Ducks landed narrowly outside the top five.

Oregon (12-2) landed at No. 6 in the year-end rankings. Following their Fiesta Bowl blowout win over Liberty, the Ducks moved up two spots and garnered 1,175 points.

That marks the seventh-highest final ranking in program history. Only the 2001, 2012, 2014, 2010, 2011, and 2019 teams finished a season with a higher ranking.

“The great thing about football is every team has an individual identity in itself,” Oregon coach Dan Lanning said following the Ducks’ Fiesta Bowl win. “What these guys built, they created a legacy and created a tradition about what we expect and our standard of play.

“But the reality is, it has nothing to do with next season. It’s going to be about the next group, going back to the fundamentals and starting from scratch. Starting from zero and figuring out exactly what we have. But they certainly put the building blocks down for what it means to be an Oregon football player and an Oregon football team.”

The Ducks are one of just three Pac-12 teams that cracked the final top 25. Washington (No. 2) and Arizona (No. 11) also made the cut. Oregon State, USC, Utah, and UCLA also received votes.
