Florida Gators with MASSIVE Opportunity Hosting Several of the Nation's Top Recruits in Season Opener | Wiltfong Whiparound

The college football season officially begins this weekend with big games between Florida and No. 19 Miami, No. 14 Clemson and No. 1 Georgia and No. 7 Notre Dame and No. 20 Texas being a few headliners.

With so many big games, it’s only natural that top recruits from every corner of the country are going to take visits. Some of those players are committed and some aren’t. I’m taking a look at some of the top Oregon commits and targets that will be hitting the road in week 1.

2026 RB Tradarian Ball (Texarkana, TX): Texas A&M

Ball is still a newer commit for Ra’Shaad Samples and the Ducks, announcing his pledge on July 27. He’s one of the biggest names in the Lone Star State and he’s expected at the biggest game the state has to offer in week 1.

This isn’t a huge surprise given the high-profile game and it’s only about a five-hour drive from his home town. The Aggies offered him in January and he was on campus in February. Given that he’s a top back, you expect Mike Elko and his staff to take their shot. That said, I haven’t heard anything recently to make me think this is a visit fans should be concerned about.

2025 WR Dallas Wilson (Tampa, FL): Florida

Wilson is one of three 5-star commits in Oregon’s 2025 class and he’s been taking visits for a long time. All while saying the right things and reaffirming his pledge to the Ducks. Like with Ball, this is the biggest game in the state of Florida this weekend and we’ve known for a long time that the Gators haven’t shied away in this recruitment.

I get the sense Wilson is about as locked in as you can be and this trip is one that is merely him enjoying the process. Everyone knows the seat is hot in Gainesville.

2025 CB Na’eem Offord (Birmingham, AL): Auburn

Despite being verbally committed to Ohio State, the 5-star cornerback has been on Oregon’s radar for a while. While he’s said all the right things regarding his pledge, the Ducks are viewed as one of the main threats to flip him. The other school is Auburn. And the argument can be made that no school had a hotter summer on the trail than Hugh Freeze and the Tigers. It’s strange to see a player of Offord’s caliber not tied to the in-state Crimson Tide, now led by Kalen DeBoer, but that seems to be the case for now. Offord took an official visit to Oregon during the summer and he’s scheduled to return to Eugene when the Ducks take on Ohio State in October.

2026 WR Chris Henry Jr. (Santa Ana, CA): Ohio State

Henry is the No. 1 wide receiver in his class and is also committed to the Buckeyes. He’ll get back to Columbus to see the season opener against Akron. But Oregon is far and away the biggest threat to flip Brian Hartline’s prized recruit in the 2026 cycle. Two trips to Oregon since transferring to Mater Dei have Junior Adams picking up some steam.

2026 QB Ryder Lyons (Folsom, CA): USC

Lyons is the top uncommitted signal caller in the 2026 class and has been tied to Oregon at times in his recruitment. While the Trojans aren’t technically playing a home game, I’ll consider Vegas home with LSU being on the other side of the country. Lyons has offers from just about every school in the country, but it seems like USC has created some separation. It would seem Will Stein and the Ducks have their guy in Jonas Williams. I’m getting closer to logging a pick for Lincoln Riley and the Trojans.

2026 DL Jahkeem Stewart (Reserve, LA): USC

Rounding out the list is On3’s No. 1 player in the 2026 class. This visit covers a couple bases for Stewart, who’s being heavily recruited by both USC and LSU. Other schools of note here include Oregon and Ohio State and I know Stewart is one the Ducks REALLY want. An interesting note in this recruitment is that USC DL coach Eric Henderson is from New Orleans, which could give the Trojans a boost. But Oregon has some Louisiana ties of their own that they’re tapping into as well.
